This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 13, 2008:
I just returned from a weekend trip to the Niger wilderness... I spent two and a half days living and breathing the raw consciousness of the seemingly forgotten ones in the midst of the dry desert. When I stared at them, I saw my mothers, my fathers, my brothers, my sisters, my sons, my daughters living in close harmony with the Earth Mother, going without life's basic needs, yet radiating so much inner wealth ... our skin color looked so different, but the SACRED Heart within all of us was simply beating the same rhythm of universal LOVE.
I slept on a handwoven dry grass mat on the sand underneath the celestial canopy of stars, ate with them the same millet porridge, shared the Presence of BEING alive and thankful...I watched their pure wonder as some of them never saw a white person before...
We were beautiful reflections of each other...
As I held this boy on my lap in the ever shaking Land Cruiser, I knew that I was holding the heart of West Africa in my arms...
My inspiration right now comes from each breath... each moment of this life is a mystical poem BEING written as we speak.
I am BLESSED to be here now... To see my Picassa album from this trip go to:
